On Saturday, September 14, Tilak Varma made a remarkable comeback in the 2024 Duleep Trophy match between India A and India D, held at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur. After a challenging first innings, Varma scored a brilliant century in the second innings on Day 3, achieving the milestone on the second ball of the 94th over.
Varma reached his hundred by guiding a delivery from Saransh Jain past the slip fielder to the third-man region for a couple of runs. His century was met with enthusiasm from his teammates, who applauded from the dressing room. Avesh Khan notably performed Tilak’s iconic ‘Samaira Celebration’ in recognition of the milestone.
As of tea on Day 3, India A was in a strong position at 370/3 after 96 overs, with Tilak Varma (104) and Shashwat Rawat (61) at the crease. The team held a commanding lead of 477 runs, setting the stage for a dominant performance in the ongoing match.
