After the conclusion of IPL 2024, with Kolkata Knight Riders securing their third IPL title in a thrilling match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to extend his appreciation to the ‘unsung heroes’ behind the success of India’s T20 season. Shah announced substantial financial rewards amounting to Rs 2.8 crore for the diligent groundsmen and curators of the IPL venues.
In his tweet, Shah acknowledged the pivotal role played by the ground staff in ensuring top-notch pitches, even under challenging weather conditions. He announced a reward of Rs 25 lakhs for each groundsman and curator at the ten regular IPL venues, along with Rs 10 lakhs for the crew at the additional three venues.
“This is not the first time Jay Shah has announced a reward for the curators and groundsmen,” the article mentions, highlighting Shah’s consistent recognition of the essential contribution made by these individuals to the success of the IPL and India’s T20 cricket season.
