The much-anticipated return of the Brisbane International is set to unfold, as the women’s singles qualifying competition kicks off tomorrow at the Queensland Tennis Centre. A total of 24 formidable players will vie for victory in the initial rounds, aiming to secure a coveted spot in the main draw.
Headlining the draw is World No.90 Aliaksandra Sasnovich, a finalist at the Brisbane International in 2018, who takes on the role of top seed. As part of the festivities marking the tournament’s return this summer, tennis enthusiasts can look forward to a special appearance by 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal in the city.
Nadal’s presence will grace the Queen Street Mall stage at 10 am, providing fans with a unique opportunity to witness the tennis legend up close before his opening-round match. Accompanied by Tournament Director Cameron Pearson, Nadal will engage in a Q&A session and generously sign tennis balls for some fortunate fans, adding an extra layer of excitement to the Brisbane International experience.
