In a lighthearted moment during Team India’s journey from Chennai to Kanpur, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja were seen playfully bullying veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on the team flight. The duo trolled Ashwin with MS Dhoni-inspired memes, much to the amusement of fans. The video, shared by the BCCI on their official social media handles, was captioned “A Journey Full of Smiles.”

In the video, Ashwin can be spotted wearing a stylish pair of sunglasses while seated in the airplane. Bumrah, taking a cheeky dig at the off-spinner, commented, “Anna for a reason,” as the camera focused on Ashwin. Jadeja, seated beside Ashwin, joined in the fun by repeating Bumrah’s words and loudly calling him “Ash anna.”
Ashwin, amused by the playful trolling, responded, “They are just bullying me, (a) poor soul,” while laughing. Bumrah quickly followed up with a playful remark, replying to Ashwin’s statement by saying, “Words of appreciation,” and giving a thumbs up to the camera.
The camaraderie between the players comes after India’s dominating performance in the 1st Test in Chennai, where Ashwin, Jadeja, and Bumrah were the standout performers. Their efforts helped India secure a massive 280-run victory over Bangladesh.
With the second Test set to take place in Kanpur starting on September 27, Team India will be aiming to complete a whitewash against Bangladesh. The pitch in Kanpur is reportedly being prepared with black soil, which is expected to be much flatter and have lower bounce than the red soil surface seen in Chennai. This likely means that India will opt for a spin-heavy attack as they look to secure another emphatic victory.
