At nearly 51 years old, Sachin Tendulkar, retired for a decade, occasionally graces the cricket field for events like the Legends League or charity exhibitions. Yet, whenever he wields the bat, the magic of his batting prowess captivates once again. Some individuals are destined for certain feats, and for Tendulkar, it’s undoubtedly batting.
A full ten years have elapsed since he bid farewell to professional cricket, but his genius remains undiminished. The iconic crouch, the familiar stance, the determined grimace while facing the bowler – and, of course, the exquisite shot-making – Tendulkar still possesses it all.
The cricket maestro is preparing to make another appearance in the upcoming One World One Family Cup, a friendly match scheduled for January 18 at the Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium in Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli. A video shared by Tendulkar on his social media reveals the legend gearing up in style, padding up and facing the bowling machine, effortlessly executing extravagant, stylish strokes from the middle of his bat.
The OWOF charity game will showcase a gathering of cricket legends, including Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Venkatesh Prasad, Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan, Sanath Jayasuriya, and Danny Morrison. While not all of them may actively participate in the game, their presence will undoubtedly grace the occasion. Beyond being just a sporting event, the inauguration of this stadium represents a beacon of hope for the underprivileged in Karnataka.
