Barbados, June 18, 2024 – Taking a break from their intense T20 World Cup schedule, the Indian cricket team found time to relax and bond on the beautiful beaches of Barbados. Led by captains Virat Kohli and Rinku Singh, the players split into groups to enjoy a Beach Day fun game of volleyball. The lighthearted activity showcased the team’s strong camaraderie against the stunning backdrop of sandy shores and clear blue waters.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) delighted fans by sharing a video of the day’s events. The video highlighted the unity and joy within the squad and support staff, featuring well-known faces like Virat Kohli, Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dube, Yuzvendra Chahal, and fielding coach T Dilip. It was a heartwarming display of the players’ enjoyment of the cricket field.
Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, Team India has been performing remarkably in the T20 World Cup, remaining unbeaten in Group A. The team secured victories against Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA, which guaranteed their spot in the Super 8s stage, despite a rain-affected final group match against Canada.
As the team prepares for the Super 8s, they are set to face Afghanistan first on June 20, followed by matches against Bangladesh on June 22 and Australia on June 24. Despite some key players like Kohli and Rohit still finding their top form, the team is confident and remains a strong contender in the tournament. In the Super 8s format, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, promising more thrilling cricket for fans around the world.
This beach day in Barbados provided the Indian team with much-needed relaxation and strengthened their bond as they look forward to the challenges ahead in the T20 World Cup.
