Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has taken a strong stand against the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital in West Bengal, which occurred on August 9. In a heartfelt two-page letter addressed to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Singh expressed his profound concern over the delay in delivering justice and urged for immediate action.
The incident has sparked nationwide outrage and protests, particularly among the medical community, who have voiced their distress over the lack of safety measures for healthcare workers and women. Singh’s letter underscores the gravity of the crime, describing it as not only an assault on the individual victim but also a severe violation of the dignity and safety of all women in society.
