India clinched the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka with a 7-wicket victory (DLS method) in the second T20I at Pallekele. Chasing a revised target of 78 in 8 overs due to rain delay, the visitors comfortably reached home in just 6.3 overs, led by Yashasvi Jaiswal’s explosive 30 off 15 balls.

The game was affected by rain, which revised the conditions for the second innings, setting India a target of 78. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s quick-fire knock set the tone for the chase, supported by steady contributions from the other batsmen.

Earlier in the match, Ravi Bishnoi shone with the ball, claiming 3 for 26 as India restricted Sri Lanka to 161 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh (2/24), Hardik Pandya (2/23), and Axar Patel (2/30) played pivotal roles in dismantling the Sri Lankan batting order, particularly in the slog overs.

For Sri Lanka, Kusal Perera top-scored with a brisk 53 off 34 balls, while Pathum Nissanka contributed a solid 32 off 24. Despite a promising start, the hosts faltered towards the end of their innings, losing crucial wickets.

India’s bowlers laid the foundation for the victory, and the batsmen ensured the chase was a formality, sealing the series win with one match to spare.
