Uttar Pradesh and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal has been selected for Team India’s 16-man squad for the first match of the two-Test series against Bangladesh. The Test, which will be held at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, is set to begin on Thursday, September 19.
Yash Dayal’s inclusion marks his debut in the longest format for India, following impressive performances in the domestic circuit and IPL. Known for his pace and consistency, Yash Dayal will be eager to make an impact in his maiden Test series, as India looks to bolster their pace attack against Bangladesh.
Apart from Yash Dayal, the squad sees some key returns. Star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, after recovering from a severe car accident, is set to play his first Test since the injury.
