The BCCI posted a touching video on social media showing players unboxing and boxing the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy on their chartered flight back home. Each player took a turn to unpack the trophy, with some even kissing it before safely storing it during their Air India flight from Barbados to New Delhi.
BCCI Posts Video of Indian Cricket Team Unboxing T20 World Cup Trophy During Flight
Rohit Sharma’s men completed the mission of winning a World Cup title that had eluded them for over a decade, and the joy was visible on the players’ faces. The BCCI also posted a video showing players dancing and joyfully holding the World Cup trophy during their flight. Each player celebrated uniquely, reflecting the team’s joy in bringing the cup home on this memorable trip.
India, known as the Men in Blue, won the T20 World Cup title without losing a single match. They dominated the group stages and Super Eights with seven straight wins, culminating in a commanding victory over England by 68 runs in the semi-final.
In the final match, they defeated a tough South African team by seven runs to clinch their second T20 World Cup title (the first was in 2007). The players’ celebrations reflected their dedication and hard work, adding to the significance of the victory for both the team and their supporters.
