Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin made history on Friday, becoming only the second Indian to reach the milestone of 500 Test wickets, prompting an outpouring of congratulations from across the country, including from prominent figures in the Bollywood film industry.
Among the first to extend his congratulations was multi-talented producer, director, and actor Dhanush, who took to social media platform X to express his delight. “Congratulations @ashwinravi99 on this incredible achievement. Thank you for making us proud #ashwin500,” Dhanush posted shortly after Ashwin’s landmark wicket of Zak Crawley during the ongoing test match between India and England at Rajkot. Dhanush’s support for Ashwin was evident from the outset, as he had earlier tweeted on the first day of the test match, “Go for it @ashwinravi99, rooting for your 500 Om Namashivaaya.”
Joining Dhanush in celebrating Ashwin’s phenomenal accomplishment was actor and director Prabhu Deva, who also took to Platform X to convey his admiration. “500 Test Wickets! What a remarkable Achievement Congratulations @ashwinravi99,” Prabhu Deva wrote, echoing the sentiments of millions of fans across the nation.
