Indian Young Guns Touch Down in Zimbabwe for T20I Series

The new-look Indian cricket team has landed in Zimbabwe ahead of their eagerly awaited five-match T20I series starting on Saturday, July 6. Led by Shubman Gill, this youthful squad is set to clash with the Zimbabwean team in a series that promises exciting cricket action.

VVS Laxman, head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), will take on the role of head coach for the entire series, bringing his wealth of experience to guide the team.

Ahead of the series opener, the Men in Blue received a warm reception upon their arrival in Zimbabwe on Wednesday, July 3. The Zimbabwe Cricket Board shared a video on their official X account, capturing the team’s arrival at the airport, led by VVS Laxman and accompanied by the coaching staff.

In preparation for the series, the BCCI announced three changes to the squad. Batsman Sai Sudharsan, wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma, and pacer Harshit Rana have been included in the squad, replacing Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shivam Dube for the initial two T20Is. The latter three players were delayed in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl but are expected to join the team later.

As anticipation builds for the series, fans eagerly await to see how this fresh Indian team performs under the mentorship of Shubman Gill and the coaching of VVS Laxman against Zimbabwe.
