Indian cricketer Suresh Raina took to his Twitter account on January 19th to share a picture of Lord Ram’s idol before the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony, captioned with ‘Jai Shri Ram.’
The new idol of Lord Ram, sculpted by Mysuru artist Arun Yogiraj, measuring 51 inches and made from black stone, was placed inside the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Monday, January 19th, as part of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ or consecration ceremony.
Preparations for the consecration ceremony included the unveiling of the idol, crafted over two days by temple authorities. Pictures of the idol being placed inside the sanctum sanctorum were released on Thursday, but it was covered with cloth.
Dignitaries from across the country and abroad are expected to attend the consecration ceremony, having been specially invited by the temple trust. The entire nation awaits the grand inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22nd, with extensive preparations underway for the ‘Pran-Pratishtha’ event, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest.
The much-anticipated ceremony has invited thousands of guests, including saints, prominent personalities, and politicians.
