In a thrilling encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday, September 5, left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed achieved a significant milestone by claiming his first wicket for India A. During the 2024 Duleep Trophy clash against India B, Khaleel made his mark by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal.
The pivotal moment occurred on the very first ball of the 21st over of India B’s innings. Khaleel bowled a short, wide delivery outside off-stump, which Jaiswal attempted to cut. However, the ball found its way to substitute fielder Shaswat Rawat, stationed at backward point, who took a straightforward catch.
Jaiswal had contributed 30 runs off 59 balls, including six boundaries, before his dismissal. This crucial wicket left India B at a precarious position of 53-2 after 21.1 overs, setting the stage for an intriguing contest in the Duleep Trophy.
