Following a tumultuous journey due to adverse weather conditions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) cricketers found solace and spiritual respite at the Kasi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. The team, en route from Lucknow to Kolkata after a game against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), encountered a series of flight diversions and delays triggered by heavy rainfall in Kolkata.
Initially scheduled to land in Kolkata on Monday evening, the KKR contingent’s flight was rerouted to Guwahati due to thunderstorms. Despite subsequent attempts to reach Kolkata, unfavorable weather persisted, leading to another diversion, this time to Varanasi.
Amidst the chaos of flight diversions and the uncertainty of travel plans, the cricketers seized the opportunity to explore the spiritual offerings of Varanasi. After a grueling schedule, the team gathered to visit the revered Kasi Vishwanath Temple, a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus.
Pictures from their visit captured moments of tranquility amidst the serene surroundings of the temple complex. Several cricketers were spotted partaking in a boat ride along the Ganges, immersing themselves in the mystical aura of one of India’s most sacred rivers. Notably, wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat was seen taking a dip in the holy waters of the Ganges, a ritual believed to cleanse the soul of impurities.
Despite the unexpected detour disrupting their travel plans, the KKR players embraced the opportunity to connect with spirituality amidst the chaos. As they await favorable weather conditions to resume their journey to Kolkata, the experience at the Kasi Vishwanath Temple offered a moment of reflection and rejuvenation for the cricketing squad.
