Team India fast bowler Mohammad Shami has taken a significant step forward in his recovery process by resuming bowling after a prolonged absence from the field. Shami’s last appearance was during the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup on November 19, where India faced a heart-wrenching defeat against Australia.
During the ODI World Cup, Shami showcased his bowling prowess, delivering one of the most remarkable performances in the tournament’s history. He claimed an impressive 24 wickets in just seven matches, boasting an outstanding average of 10.70.
However, the talented bowler has been sidelined since November last year due to an ankle injury, which also ruled him out of both the IPL 2024 and the T20 World Cup. In February, Shami underwent surgery and has since been diligently undergoing rehabilitation to regain full fitness.
Recently, Shami took to his official Instagram account to share positive updates with fans. He posted a video showcasing himself bowling on a turf, indicating significant progress in his recovery journey. The caption of Shami’s post read: “Away from the Ground, but Never Out of the Game, the comeback will be worth watching.”
As Shami continues his rehabilitation efforts, cricket enthusiasts eagerly anticipate his return to the field, hoping to witness more memorable performances from the talented fast bowler.
