On Friday, July 26, the Indian team proudly took part in the Parade of Nations at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. The event was filled with vibrant and enthusiastic displays of Indian pride as the athletes marched through the venue.
Leading the Indian team were badminton star PV Sindhu and the evergreen table tennis player Achanta Sharath Kamal, who had the honor of being the flag-bearers for the nation. The reception for the Indian team was overwhelming, with the crowd cheering them on enthusiastically.
Amidst this, Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took the opportunity to send their best wishes to the athletes for the upcoming showpiece event. Yuvraj, known for his significant contributions to Indian cricket, having been a part of the 2011 World Cup and the 2007 T20 World Cup victories, expressed his confidence in the Indian team’s abilities.

“As the Paris Olympics commences, my best wishes to the Indian contingent. Every athlete is India’s pride. May they all shine and embody the true spirit of sportsmanship, inspiring us with their exceptional performances,” PM Modi wrote.
Yuvraj Singh shared an encouraging message: “To our athletes representing India at the Paris Olympics – your hard work and dedication have brought you here. Now it’s time to show the world what we are made of. The whole nation is cheering for you. Never give up and give it your all!”
India has sent a 117-member contingent to compete in the Paris Olympics, with hopes high for outstanding performances and memorable moments that will bring pride to the nation.
