India captain Rohit Sharma and his teammate Suryakumar Yadav were all smiles as they posed with the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy after boarding a chartered flight to New Delhi. The Men in Blue are finally returning home after their original schedules were disrupted by severe weather conditions in Barbados, which included hurricanes and tornadoes, leaving them stranded at the team hotel.
In response to the situation, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah arranged a special flight to airlift the players back to India. As a special gesture, media personnel were also invited to accompany Team India on the flight back home.
Rohit Sharma shared a joyous post on Instagram, captioning it: “Coming home.” The post celebrated not just their return but also Rohit’s remarkable leadership, which saw India achieve their 50th T20I win under his captaincy and end an 11-year ICC trophy drought with their recent T20 World Cup victory.
The images of Rohit and Suryakumar with the trophy have gone viral, capturing the pride and excitement of the Indian cricket team as they return home victorious.
