Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma recently met with Musheer Khan, the promising Mumbai cricketer, who is currently recovering from a serious neck injury sustained in a road accident near Lucknow in late September. Musheer, the younger brother of India and Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan, suffered a neck fracture that forced him to miss several key matches, including the Irani Cup clash between Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai and the Rest of India, as well as the first two games of the Ranji Trophy tournament, which begins this Friday.
Despite the injury, the 19-year-old Musheer Khan has remained in high spirits. He confirmed feeling well post-accident and continues actively participating in his recovery. During his rest period, Musheer watched his brother Sarfaraz lead Mumbai to their first Irani Cup title in 27 years. Sarfaraz’s heroics, which included a stellar double century, were dedicated to Musheer, showcasing the deep bond between the siblings.
The recovery milestone was marked with a heartfelt moment when Musheer shared a photo on Instagram featuring himself wearing a neck brace, standing alongside Rohit Sharma and his father, Naushad Khan. The Indian captain’s visit is a gesture of encouragement, reinforcing the cricket fraternity’s support for the young star’s comeback.
Musheer Khan, who gained prominence as part of India’s U19 World Cup runners-up team, has made significant strides since his first-class debut in 2022. With 716 runs in just nine matches at an impressive average of 51.14, including three centuries and a double century, he has already established himself as a rising talent in Indian cricket. His highest score, an unbeaten 203, came in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals, and he further showcased his skills with a century on debut for India B in the Duleep Trophy this September.
As Musheer Khan continues his recovery, the cricketing world eagerly awaits his return to the field, with the backing of mentors like Rohit Sharma and the support of his family pushing him toward a bright future.
