Sanju Samson Fined ₹12 Lakh for Slow Over Rate: During the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 10, Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Sanju Samson was slapped with a fine of ₹12 lakh for a breach of the Code of Conduct. The fine was imposed due to his team’s slow overrate during the match.
An official statement released by the IPL confirmed that Samson, as the captain of Rajasthan Royals, was fined following the slow over rate observed during the TATA IPL 2024 encounter against Gujarat Titans. This marked the team’s first offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct about minimum over-rate violations.
The statement added that since it was the first time his team had violated the IPL’s Code of Conduct regarding slow over rates this season, Samson incurred a fine of ₹12 lakhs.
The imposition of the fine serves as a reminder to teams to adhere to the stipulated over-rate regulations to ensure the smooth conduct of matches and maintain the integrity of the game.
