Indian keeper-batter Sanju Samson was recently seen enjoying a game of table tennis with a friend. The Rajasthan Royals captain (RR) had participated in the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, which the Men in Blue clinched 4-1.
Sanju was also part of the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad, although he didn’t get to play a single match and watched all the proceedings from the sidelines. Initially announced in the squad for the T20Is against Zimbabwe, his arrival, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube, was delayed for two matches as they took part in the victory parade and felicitation ceremony.
In the remaining three games, Sanju showcased his class. He stayed not out with 12 runs from 7 balls in the 3rd T20I and hit an impressive half-century in the final match of the series. At one point, India was 40/3 after five overs. Sanju then played a crucial innings of 58 runs off 45 balls, hitting one boundary and four sixes to help India post a total of 167. In response, Mukesh Kumar’s four-wicket haul led India to a 42-run victory.
