Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) debutant Shamar Joseph stepped onto the IPL stage on April 14, Sunday, during their match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Joseph, replacing Mark Wood, showcased his talent after his standout performance for West Indies against Australia earlier this year, securing a famous win at the Gabba Test.
Despite the anticipation surrounding him, the West Indies pacer had to bide his time as LSG opted for a gradual integration into the tournament. KL Rahul had hinted at Joseph’s eventual debut during LSG’s previous game against RR.
Finally, the moment arrived as Shamar entered the lineup for Lucknow, replacing Naveen-ul-Haq. KKR, having won the toss, chose to bowl first at the Eden Gardens, while also reintroducing Harshit Rana into their squad.
