Team India’s ace batter, Virat Kohli, landed in Chennai on Friday, September 13, ahead of the highly anticipated Test series opener against Bangladesh. The match will be held at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium, starting on September 19.
Kohli, who recently featured in India’s three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, took some time off with his family in London following the series. In that ODI series, the 35-year-old delivered a below-par performance, accumulating just 58 runs across three innings with an average of 19.33. Sri Lanka emerged victorious, winning the series 2-0.
Upon his arrival at Chennai airport, Kohli was spotted amidst heavy security, with a video of him walking out of the terminal shared by one of his fan clubs on X (formerly Twitter). Fans expressed excitement for Kohli’s return to red-ball cricket after he missed India’s five-match home Test series against England earlier this year due to personal reasons.
