Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has expressed his gratitude to the Mumbai Police for their hard work in ensuring that India’s T20 World Cup victory parade was carried out without any major hassles. The Men in Blue were scheduled to begin their victory parade from the National Centre of Performing Arts at 5 PM IST on July 4.
Despite the parade being scheduled for later in the day, the crowd began gathering along Marine Drive as early as 3 PM. A delay in Team India’s flight further postponed the parade. However, the Mumbai Police effectively managed the situation, safeguarding both the fans and the cricketers, making the event a spectacular celebration for the cricketing world.
Virat Kohli took to X (formerly Twitter) to thank the Mumbai Police: “Deep respect and heartfelt thanks to all the officers and staff of @MumbaiPolice & @CPMumbaiPolice for doing a phenomenal job during Team India’s Victory Parade. Your dedication and service are highly appreciated. Jai Hind!”
Following the parade, the Indian players proceeded to the Wankhede Stadium for the felicitation ceremony, where thousands of fans had been eagerly waiting. The Mumbai Police once again ensured the ceremony was conducted smoothly, allowing the celebration to continue without any issues.
