The 86-year-old business icon passed away on Wednesday, October 9, at Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai after being admitted due to age-related health issues.

As India mourned the loss of one of its most beloved figures, Kohli joined many in paying tribute. He shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram Stories, writing: “Forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace, sir.” Kohli’s message resonated with millions who admired Ratan Tata’s contributions to the nation.

On the cricket front, Virat Kohli was last seen on the field during India’s recent two-match Test series against Bangladesh. While the hosts dominated the first game with a commanding 280-run victory, Kohli struggled with the bat, managing only 6 and 17 in his two innings. However, he bounced back in the second Test, scoring a brisk 47 off 35 balls in the first innings and remaining unbeaten with 29 off 37 in the second as India secured a seven-wicket win, sweeping the series.

Virat Kohli is set to return to action when India faces New Zealand in a three-match Test series starting on October 16 in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, Team India will be back on the field for the final T20I match of the Bangladesh series on October 12 in Hyderabad.
