The West Indies Cricket Board has unveiled its official squad for the upcoming home T20I series against South Africa, a crucial preparation ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. With the Windies co-hosting the tournament alongside the USA, this marks a historic moment in cricket as the first-ever co-hosted T20 World Cup.
Led by captain Brandon King and vice-captain Roston Chase, the West Indies squad boasts a blend of experience and emerging talent. Notable absentees include senior players representing their teams in the IPL 2024 playoffs, while top-order batsmen Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran are rested until May 27th.
The series, scheduled to commence on May 23rd at Sabina Park in Jamaica, will see the Windies facing South Africa in three intense matches.
