Left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased his prowess at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, delivering a stellar performance in the third match of the five-match Test series. Despite facing the formidable baseball bowling band, Jaiswal’s bat spoke volumes as he scored a stormy century, providing much-needed strength to the Indian team, particularly in light of R Ashwin’s absence from further participation in the test match.
With India aiming for a substantial score to secure victory, a big innings was anticipated from an opener, and Jaiswal did not disappoint. This century marks his second of the series and the third of his Test career. Remarkably, it’s his second consecutive century, following his double century in Visakhapatnam during the second match of the series, which also marked his first double century in his career.
What’s more impressive is Jaiswal’s rapid ascent in Test cricket, completing his third century in just his 7th match. Notably, he had also scored a century against West Indies in the first test match. Even against seasoned bowlers like Anderson, Jaiswal displayed his prowess, accumulating runs with confidence.
At present, Jaiswal’s age is a testament to his remarkable achievements, further solidifying his status as a rising star in the world of cricket.
